Primary Purpose:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the agricultural area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in agricultural profession.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate in agricultural science
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Exhibit strong work ethic, leadership and organizational skills
Ability to work in multi-teacher department and willingness to be a part of a team concept
Good communication and interpersonal skills
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Track the budget for the welding program each year
Coordinate, maintain inventories, and keep record of the welding resale accounts for classroom and shop projects
Purchase supplies and equipment for the classroom, office and shop facilities
Inventory the supplies and equipment of the agriculture program
Cooperate in maintaining, planning, and improving the physical facilities
Serve as an FFA Advisor
Assist in training competitive LDE and CDE teams Assist in supervising SAEPs Assist with awards and scholarships Attend camps, conventions, livestock shows and other FFA functions
Experience:
At least one year student teaching or approved internship |
