Primary Purpose:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the agricultural area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in agricultural profession.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Exhibit strong work ethic, leadership and organizational skills
Ability to work in multi-teacher department and willingness to be a part of a team concept
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Track the budget for the agriculture program each year
Coordinate, maintain inventories, and keep record of the agriculture resale accounts for classroom projects
Purchase supplies and equipment for the classroom, office and facilities
Inventory the supplies and equipment of the agriculture program
Cooperate in maintaining, planning, and improving the physical facilities
Serve as an FFA Advisor
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Assist in training competitive LDE and CDE teams Assist in supervising SAEPs Assist with awards and scholarships Attend camps, conventions, livestock shows and other FFA functions
Experience:
Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience |
